It all began with a love for the natural world. Travelling has always been a great inspiration to me. Living in Kenya has made my dreams come true as i get to learn so much that this beautiful country has to offer. From it’s beautiful rich mountains to its dry lands, Kenya has much to offer if only you decide to explore it. I will be exploring this beautiful country and I would love to take you with me through the entire adventure.

A Masai Mara safari will be our first adventure. The Masai Mara game reserve is located in the south western part of our mother land, Kenya. The reserve forms part of the great Eco-system that connects the Serengeti National park in our neighboring country,Tanzania. The name Masai Mara is names after the Masai people who live there and the Mara river. The reserve is famous for its population of the wild animals and the migration of the wildebeest, which occurs every year around July and August.

On exploring the Mara, I discovered That the entire area of the Mara park is nestled within the great Rift Valley. Its also consists of the Savannah, undulating hills and the rich rolling grasslands. The western border of the Mara is the Esoit Olooloo escarpment of the rift valley and the wildlife tends to be mostly concentrated in this area. This is because the ground here is swampy which means that the access to water here is very good compared to the rest of the park. The tourist disruption in this area is also minimal.

The eastern border of the Mara is 224 km from Nairobi and hence it is the most visited region. The Mara is known for its predator population especially the Lions, hyenas, cheetahs, elephants just to name a few. It is quite a magnificent view to watch the predictors take down a kill on the Masai plains.

The Mara is probably one of the best serviced national park and reservations with a wide range of budget friendly accommodations and packages. Game drives, balloon safaris, walking and camp safaris are some of the activities that you will find in the Mara. I hope that this journey has been satisfactory for you as it has been for me. Explaining the adventure to you will not be enough as you will have to explore the Mara personally to experience what mother nature has to offer.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
